DO I MANIFEST THAT I AM LIMA?!
Cecilia Collazos / José Gómez / Pancho Guerra García / Piero Quijano / Rafo León

This exhibition brings together the works of four people from Lima with extensive experience in the visual arts: Cecilia Collazos, José Gómez, Pancho Guerra García, Piero Quijano and the pleasant pictorial foray of the journalist Rafo León.
A series of works developed in the last three years will be exhibited, based on the experience of Lima representatives of the arts. They present us with a manifesto, a look at the idea of the city. A graphic image of the Lima that was built and found us in the bicentennial years of independence.

A work team accompanies the management of the exhibition: Omar Zamalloa (Visual artist and exhibition and assembly coordinator) and Pilar Ramos (Press and image manager), with the management and curatorship coordination of the historian and cultural manager Betzabeth Ortega Luján, around 42 works are proposed, selected
for its diversity in terms of language, color and shape. A sequence of formats and aesthetic dimensions that seeks a discourse that invites dialogue from the question and the constant need to express an emotion that encourages a thought that asserts or denies its identity.

Do I declare that I am LIMA?! It proposes a reinterpretation in the contemplation of the object question, in the architectural and monumental aspects that identify it, in spaces taken from the nostalgia of everyday uses and transits, of interiors. Modernity and the need to sustain it over time, being very much a mirage. The intention to make visible the subjective, thought and criticism, satire as a constant and permanent resource as a mirror that reminds us of our old and somber viceregal heritage. Changes and permanences in Lima accentuate the importance of redefining the spaces and territories of which we are part today.

The images invite us to encounter elements that distinguish our Lima. The urban character and nature of the capital city. The conceptual theme that proposes dialogue with the public and invites them to participate and be part of the exhibition alongside the exhibiting artists. However, the textual record, as a thought, phrase, idea or reflection that they propose for the city of Lima in the Bicentennial context of independence.
